The Big Day Details

June 5, 2027 at Hotel Domestique

We chose Hotel Domestique because it sits right between Lauren’s hometown of Asheville and our home in Greenville. It felt like the perfect place to gather all our favorite people, in a place that feels like home to both of us. And with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background — the same mountains where we got engaged — it felt pretty perfect.

The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM and will take place outdoors, weather permitting. So, fingers crossed for a perfect South Carolina evening. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all.

Like many great love stories...

ours started with Bumble.

In the summer of 2019, Spencer was apparently very determined that we should meet. After matching on Bumble, he managed to find me on Instagram, send a message, and generally make sure I didn't accidentally overlook him. At the time, I definitely did not think I was talking to my future husband. But after some convincing, Spencer drove all the way to Asheville for our first date, where we spent the day brewery hopping and getting to know each other.

Then, in a plot twist that still gets brought up today, I ghosted him.

To be fair, I was finishing my senior year of college, life was busy, and long distance felt complicated. But while most people would have moved on, Spencer continued to check in every now and then with kind messages and a level of patience that was very different from anyone I had ever dated.

About ten months later, I finally came to my senses and decided to slide into his DMs.

From there, the rest is history. Over the next several years, we built a life together filled with long-distance weekends, date nights, painting projects that somehow took over entire Saturdays, our weekly Sip & Spill Sundays, lots of Bruster's ice cream, and plenty of bopping from Asheville, Greenville, and Atlanta. Along the way, we did five years of long distance, adopted our two very spoiled cats, Poe and Bellini, and learned that no matter where life took us, we were always happiest when we were together.

Five and a half years later, Spencer asked me to marry him at the very spot where he had asked me to be his girlfriend—Frying Pan Tower in the Blue Ridge Mountains. What started as a normal day quickly became one of the most meaningful days of our lives. We celebrated, danced in the rain, and had one of those rare moments where everything felt perfectly full circle.

If there's one thing we're proud of, it's making nearly five years of long distance work. It took patience, lots of FaceTime dates, countless "see you soon" hugs, and taught us just how much we loved building a life together. Looking back, there aren't many people either of us could have imagined doing that with.

We can't wait to celebrate with all of you as we start our next chapter together—and we're especially grateful that Spencer never gave up after being ghosted all those years ago.

Love, Lalee & Spencie

2020

The year Spencer asked Lauren to be his girlfriend... little did we know we'd be back here six years later.

(BTW, this is our very first picture together)

2021

The year we fell in love. Full of road trips, first holidays together, meeting each other's friends and family, and making memories everywhere in between.

2022

A year of big milestones! Spencer bought his first home, Lauren graduated with her master's degree, and we made plenty of memories along the way.

2023

Our record-breaking year for attending our friend's and family's weddings! We also adopted our first cat, Poe (or as some of you know him, Krampus), and continued growing our little community.

2024

A lot of miles between Greenville and Atlanta as we made long distance work. Little did we know, this would be our last year of goodbyes at the end of a weekend.

2025

The year Lauren officially moved to Greenville and we went from cat parents of one to cat parents of two. Finally, no more long distance!

2026

A pretty big year... WE'RE ENGAGED! Six years after where it all began, we can't wait to celebrate the next chapter with you in 2027.

What Do I Wear?

Festive Black Tie Optional Attire

Think tuxedos, elevated suits, and formal gowns—but most importantly, come dressed in a way that feels like your most confident, celebratory self. This is a wedding, after all, and we fully intend to make it a party.

If you know Lauren, you know she has never met a pattern, color, texture, sparkle, or statement piece she didn't love. While this is a formal celebration, please don't feel limited to traditional black attire. Rich colors, interesting fabrics, bold details, and personal style are all welcome. We love seeing people express themselves, and we hope you'll have fun with your look.

You bring the looks, we'll bring the champagne, dancing, and good company.

Misters

Suit up

Tuxedos and elevated formal suits are encouraged.

Classic black is always welcome, but it is certainly not required. Whether you choose a timeless tuxedo, a rich jewel tone, or a suit with a little personality, we're all for it. Ties or bow ties are requested.

Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel polished, confident, and ready to celebrate.

Ladies

Bring the glamour

Floor-length gowns, formal midi dresses, and elevated evening attire are all wonderful choices.

Whether your style leans toward sleek and sophisticated, romantic and floral, colorful and bold, or covered in sparkle, this is your moment to have fun with it. Think luxurious fabrics, beautiful textures, statement jewelry, dramatic silhouettes, and all the details that make getting dressed for a special occasion exciting.

If you've been waiting for an excuse to wear the dress—this is it.

Our Registry

Having our favorite people together to celebrate is all we really want.

For those who would like to give a gift, we've created a registry and a honeymoon fund.

While we're excited about a few things for our home, we're even more excited about making memories together as newlyweds. If you're considering a gift, a contribution toward our honeymoon fund would mean the world to us. Think of it as helping sponsor a few adventures, good meals, and probably an unreasonable number of vacation cocktails.

Flights

See you at Hotel Domestique!

We recommend flying into either GSP or AVL, depending on your travel plans. Hotel Domestique is conveniently located between the two cities, approximately 45 minutes from either airport. If you're planning to stay near Travelers Rest, GSP (Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport) will be the most convenient option for your trip.

Accomodations

Here are some of our recommended Airbnbs or Hotels in the area

Click on each image and we have provided some links for your conviance. You can also reach out to us if you ever have any questions about accommodations and recommendations!

Airbnb's close the venue

There are handful close to the venue and in beautiful town of Traveler's Rest. We recommend renting a car or planning Ubers beforehand if you stay closer to the venue as Ubers and Lyfts may be hard to come across early or late of the day.

Hotels in Travelers Rest

We recommend The Station by Campo Hotels, but there is also a Hampton Inn and Best Western close by if you prefer that.

Hotels in Greenville

If you are looking for something downtown Greenville, there are many to choose from!
Some of our favorites include The Westin, Grand Bohemian Lodge, The AC Hotel, or the Hyatt Place Downtown Greenville!

Check out these fun things to do around town when you're not busy celebrating with us...

Friday Night Gallery Crawl

You're in luck—you'll be in town for First Friday, one of our favorite Greenville traditions. On the first Friday of every month, galleries, studios, and creative venues throughout Greenville open their doors to the public, creating a fun, self-guided evening of local art, creativity, and exploration.

As many of you know, Lauren has always loved art, and shortly after she moved to Greenville, Spencer surprised her with a First Friday Gallery Crawl date night. Since then, it's become one of our favorite ways to spend an evening together. You'll find a collection of incredible galleries, artist studios, and creative spaces. Many locations also offer complimentary wine or beer while you browse, making the experience feel a little like an art walk meets date night.

We'll include a link below with participating galleries and resources to help you plan your route.

Friday, June 4 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Saturday Farmers Market

One of our favorite ways to spend a Saturday morning is wandering through the TD Saturday Market in downtown Greenville. With more than 75 local vendors, the market is filled with fresh seasonal produce, flowers, artisan foods, baked goods, and handcrafted goods from local makers. If you're visiting from out of town, you absolutely have to try Swamp Rabbit Café's famous Stecca Bread. We also can't seem to make it through the market without buying fresh strawberries—and somehow they're usually gone before we even make it back to the car.

Our ideal Saturday morning includes grabbing a great cup of coffee, browsing the vendor stalls, and finishing at the bottom of Main Street with a walk through Falls Park.

Saturdays | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Swamp Rabbit Trail

This 22-mile trail connects some of our favorite parts of the city and is a great way to spend a few hours if you're looking to get outside.

You can walk, run, rent bikes, or simply hop on and off the trail as you explore. Along the way, you'll pass some of Greenville's most-loved spots, including Falls Park, Liberty Bridge, Unity Park, and the Greenville Zoo. You'll also ride right through Furman University, Lauren's alma mater (Go Dins, sorry Wofford peeps). If you've never visited, it's worth a quick stop to walk around the lake and see the campus that Lauren called home for four years. Keep going a little farther and you'll end up in Travelers Rest, filled with local restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries. A few of our favorites are Farmhouse Tacos, Swamp Rabbit Brewery, and Upcountry Provisions, which was Lauren's go-to sandwich spot in college.

One of the things we love most about the Swamp Rabbit Trail is that you can make it whatever you want it to be—a quick morning walk, a bike ride with a coffee stop, or an afternoon spent exploring Greenville.

Spencie & Lalee's Recs

If you’re looking for good food, good drinks, or just a place to accidentally spend a few hours longer than planned, here are some of our go-to's around town.

Yee-Haw – A classic. Lalee for a drink (hehe), Spencer for a sports game! Whether you know every stat or none of them, you’ll fit right in.

Papi’s Tacos (West Village) – If you’re in need of a margarita fix, great queso, and a solid patio, this is your spot.

Six & Twenty Distillery – One of our favorite date night stops. It’s tucked right by the West Village and makes for a super easy, fun little pre-dinner or afternoon hang.

City Scape Winery – If it’s wine o’clock and you’re feeling like being a little silly goose about it, this is the move.

Sassafras + BrickTop’s – Two reliable GVL staples. Sassafras is one of our go-to's for dinner or brunch (especially Sunday mornings), and BrickTop’s is that easy “we just want something good and don’t want to think too hard about it” kind of spot.

Bex Café – Amazing breakfast, smoothies, coffee, and some of the most *scrumptious* gluten-free bagels for all our gluten-free queens.

Daydrinkers Coffee – One of our favorite finds from our Sip & Spill Sundays. It’s our little tradition of grabbing coffee, sitting down, and catching up on the week—aka sipping coffee and spilling all the tea.

FAQ's

What does Festive Black Tie Optional mean?

We'd love for our guests to embrace the elegance of a black-tie celebration while still having fun with their personal style. Festive Black Tie Optional means we hope you'll come dressed in something polished, elevated, and celebration-worthy. And if you know Lauren, you know she loves color, texture, sparkle, and a great outfit. While this is a formal celebration, please don't feel limited to traditional black attire. Rich colors, beautiful fabrics, bold details, and personal style are all welcome.

For the Misters: Tuxedos are always welcome, but a well-tailored suit is equally appropriate. Whether you choose a classic look or something with a little more personality, we encourage formal attire, collared shirts, dress shoes, and a tie or bow tie. Classic black is great, but don't feel like it's your only option. Spencer is taking bets on who will show up looking the sharpest, so gentlemen, consider this your chance to bring your A-game.
Please avoid casual attire or footwear (especially sneakers), or anything that feels overly relaxed.

For the Ladies: Floor-length gowns are always a beautiful choice, but formal tea-length dresses are equally welcome. Think elegant fabrics, interesting textures, statement details, and maybe even a little sparkle.
Please leave the sundresses, church dresses, casual daytime attire, and flip-flops at home.

We're excited to see everyone dressed up and ready to celebrate.

Are children invited?

While we absolutely adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration.

We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax, enjoy the evening, and spend a fun weekend with us. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate together.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to the intimate nature of our venue and guest list, we are only able to accommodate the guests specifically listed on each invitation.

If a plus one has been reserved for you, it will be indicated on your invitation or RSVP. We appreciate your understanding as we work to celebrate with our closest family and friends while staying within the venue's capacity.

What is the address for the venue?

10 Road of Vines, Travelers Rest, SC 29690

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes before the ceremony begins so you have plenty of time to park, find your seat, and get settled before we say "I do."

And if you're hoping for the best view, arriving a little early is never a bad idea.

Will there be transportation?

At this time, we will not be providing transportation to and from the venue.

We highly encourage guests to carpool whenever possible—it's the smart option and honestly more fun anyway. If you plan to use Uber or Lyft, we recommend scheduling your rides in advance, especially for transportation to and from the venue, as ride availability can be limited in the area.

What happens if it rains?

We've got a plan.

Weather permitting, our wedding will take place outdoors in the gardens and courtyards of Hotel Domestique.
Please keep this in mind when selecting your attire and footwear. We recommend choosing shoes that can comfortably navigate grass, stone pathways, or slightly uneven surfaces.

In the event of inclement weather, we'll utilize a tented space and move portions of the celebration indoors as needed. Either way, we'll be getting married, celebrating, and having a great time with all of you.

What airport should I fly into?

If you're flying in, we recommend Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP).

It's a relatively small airport, easy to navigate, and the most convenient option for getting to Greenville and Travelers Rest. Plus, you'll spend less time wandering through terminals and more time enjoying the weekend.

Are gluten-free, vegetarian, and other dietary accommodations available?

Absolutely!

You'll have the opportunity to note any dietary restrictions or accommodations when you RSVP, and we'll do everything we can to make sure you're well taken care of.

As a gluten-free girly herself, Lauren has already made this a top priority and will be doing her best to ensure there are plenty of delicious options for everyone to enjoy. 💛 If you have a specific allergy or dietary concern, please let us know when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Questions You Were About to Text Us

Can I bring a plus one?

Because of the intimate nature of the weekend, we’re only able to accommodate the guests specifically named on your invitation. If a plus one is included, their name will be listed on your rehearsal dinner invitation.

Can my guest stay with me at the Hotel?

Only guests who have been specifically invited to stay at Hotel Domestique will be able to stay overnight. We have reserved the entire hotel for our closest friends and family, and with a limited number of rooms, unfortunately we cannot accommodate additional overnight guests.

What do I wear to the Rehearsal Dinner?

We’re kicking off the weekend with an all-white party! Think white, cream, ivory, or anything in between. And if you’re prone to spilling red wine on yourself, consider this your official warning to pack a backup shirt. 🤍

Can I make a speech at the rehersal dinner?

Please do! We want the rehearsal dinner to feel intimate, informal, and a little bit like an open mic around one big family table. Come ready to tell a story, share a memory, give a toast, or say whatever is on your heart. Nothing needs to be prepared or polished—we just want to spend the evening eating, drinking, laughing, telling stories, and going back and forth with some of our favorite people.

We’d genuinely love to hear from as many of you as possible.

Are kids allowed to stay at the Hotel?

Our wedding weekend at Hotel Domestique will be adults only. Because we’ll have the hotel to ourselves, we want everyone to be able to celebrate, stay up late, wander downstairs for another drink, and enjoy the weekend without worrying about keeping things quiet for little ones sleeping upstairs.

It’s going to be a lively weekend, so we kindly ask that you make childcare arrangements before joining us.

What is the parking situation?

Parking at Hotel Domestique is extremely limited. Parking will be available for our overnight guests, but we highly encourage carpooling—even if you’re staying at the hotel. If you have friends or family heading up at the same time, grab a ride together. Fewer cars = more room for everyone.

Do I need to leave the venue in between events?

Nope! Once you arrive, settle in and make yourself at home. Our Friday festivities will all take place at Hotel Domestique, so there’s no need to worry about driving from one event to another.

Can I actually wear my pjs to the Sunday brunch?

Your pajamas. Seriously.

Roll out of bed in your PJs, eye mask still on, makeup from the night before—we’ll be happy to see you however you arrive. Think of Sunday brunch as our official morning-after debrief: coffee, breakfast, and one last meal together while we recap the night before, spill all the funny details, and piece together the stories from the weekend.

No getting ready required. Just come downstairs.

What should I pack for the weekend?

Along with your wedding attire, don’t forget your white or cream look for Friday night and your pajamas for Sunday brunch. Hotel Domestique also has a pool, so feel free to bring a swimsuit if you want to spend some of your downtime lounging by the pool. Otherwise, pack for a weekend of eating, drinking, celebrating, and making yourself at home

Will there be food or beverages available during our downtime?

Absolutely. There’s a café at the hotel where you can grab coffee throughout the day, and Restaurant 17 will be open for breakfast and lunch if you’re hungry between festivities. There are also snack bars throughout the hotel wings for whenever you need a midday pick-me-up, a late-night treat, or—most importantly—a drunk snack.

Basically, we promise you won’t go hungry or uncaffeinated.
